Monsignor Nelson Baker was a simple diocesan Roman Catholic priest, who had a great devotion to Our Lady of Victory and worked tirelessly in the service of ‘the least among us.’
He was an outstanding administrator with a natural ability to under take big projects.
He built and operated orphanages, a trade school, an infant home for infants and unwed mothers, a maternity hospital and the Basilica of Our Lady of Victory.
He helped many poor people during the Great Depression before he died at the age of 94 in the year 1936 A.D.
Prayer of Petition
O God, Our Father, we praise and thank Thee for the gift of Father Nelson Baker, priest and disciple, who lived Thy will in faith and trust, and lived Thy love in service to the poor, the sick, the homeless and the young.
I pray in confidence that through his intercession, Thou wilst grant me the favor which I request. Thou who liveth and reigneth forever and ever.
Amen.
