The Truth Will Set You Free (veritas vos liberabit).
One of the characteristics of TRUTH is its unchanging character.
What was true yesterday is true today and will be true tomorrow.
If ‘truth’ was the subject of science the previous statement would qualify as ‘The Law Of Truth.’
Consider, that 224 years ago, in 1788 A.D., the ex-President of Harvard, Samuel Langdon, gave the following sage advice in front of the Massachusetts Legislature:
On the people it depends whether wise men or fools, good or bad men shall govern.
Be careful in the choice of your representatives.
Fix your eyes upon men of good understanding and known honesty; men who fear God and who love truth and righteousness.
Let not men openly irreligious and immoral become your legislators.
If the people fail in the responsibility to elect good and virtuous men, the result would be ‘corrupt judges, unqualified justices, and officers in every department who will dishonor their station.
What was true in 1788 is just as valid today. But…
It appears that, over the course of the last 50 years (or longer), too many people have failed in their responsibility to elect good and virtuous men.
When the light of truth is hidden… darkness takes its place.
Woe to those who ignore or disobey the wise and prudential advice of parents and elders.
Let us pray for the conversion of those who are in high places and who are in error and for those who are in low places who enable the mistaken leaders:
“O Mary most merciful, the refuge of sinners, hear our supplications and pray to Thy Son, that Almighty God may take away all iniquity from the hearts of the heathen; that, having forsaken their idols, they may turn to the living and true God, and His only Son, Christ our Lord and God.
“Confounded by all they that worship graven images;
“And that glory in their idols.
“Let us pray (orémus).
“O God, Who wilt have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth: send forth, we beseech Thee, laborers into Thy harvest and grant them to speak Thy word with all confidence; that Thy word may run and be glorified, and that all peoples may know Thee, the only true God, and Him whom Thou has sent, Jesus Christ Thy Son, our Lord: Who liveth and reigneth with Thee world without end.

Now, let’s humbly repeat this prayer in Latin (the official language of the Church) for extra merits:
