The Mystical Body of Christ consists of Jesus Christ as It’s Head along with the Church Triumphant (all those in Heaven), the Church Suffering (all those in Purgatory) and the Church Militant (all those ‘on Earth’).

Pope Pius XII described the Church Militant thusly:

We belong to the Church Militant; and she is militant because on earth the powers of darkness are ever restless to encompass her destruction.

Not only in the far-off centuries of the early Church, but down through the ages and in this our own day,

the enemies of God and Christian civilization make bold to attack the Creator’s supreme dominion and sacrosanct human rights.

Now, consider Michael Voris’ take on the above quote (which he endorses and supports) regarding the ‘Church Militant’ vis-a-vis a huge portion of the ‘Catholic Church’ as it exists today:

That is not NICE language, but brother, it is most certainly MILITANT language.

AH, but the Church of NICE doesn’t like language like that.

The Church of NICE is the lousy theology Church that has grown up in the shadow of Vatican II and conducts its faith twisting business under the hilarious pretense of the ‘Spirit of Vatican II’ – although no one in that camp ever seems to be able to actually define what is meant by the ‘SPIRIT of Vatican II.’

It’s a lousy theology because in many instances .. from liturgy to sacraments and every other corner of the Church .. it more resembles Protestantism that the Church Militant.

And speaking about ‘nice’: the guaranteed way to get to Heaven is not necessarily by being ‘nice’ but absolutely by being ‘holy’ and there’s a world of difference between the two.

For instance, it’s not nice to tell someone who is committing a mortal sin that he’s going to go to hell if he doesn’t:

go to Confession,

get absolved of his sins (by a validly ordained Catholic Priest),

do his penance and

to change his ways.

But it’s an act of great charity (which is holy) to admonish the sinner and help him save his soul.

So, remember: don’t aim to be ‘nice’ but to be ‘holy.’

Holy trumps ‘nice’ every time.
